Owen James, President

	Owen James is the asset management practice lead for Associated Engineering. He works primarily with municipalities across Canada to help them improve asset management practices and to develop more optimal investment programs.

Marco Bijvank, Vice President and Secretary

Dr. Marco Bijvank is an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He holds an M.Sc. in Business Mathematics and Informatics (graduated Cum Laude) and a Ph.D. from the VU University Amsterdam. He has been a visiting scholar at Aarhus University, Denmark, post-doctoral researcher at University of Montreal, Canada, and assistant professor in the Rotterdam School of Management, Netherlands. The research interests of Marco Bijvank are inventory management, supply chain management, retail operations and revenue management. The goal of his research is to reduce the gap between theory and practice in logistics activities, and to increase the understanding of the dynamics inherent in practical settings. Most of his work focuses on applying operation research techniques and deriving more powerful algorithms and more effective heuristic approaches for realistic models. One of the important aspects to test the applicability of the solution techniques is verification through case studies. His research has been published in international journals such as Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research and Journal of the Operational Research Society. He has been nominated for the best Business Mathematics and Informatics Thesis Award 2004 and the Philips Mathematics Prize for Ph.D. Students 2007.

Neil Barnes, Past President

Neil Barnes is a Project Manager with Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. specializing in information systems projects. He has worked in the IS field for over 30 years in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a Management Science major from the University of Alberta and a Computer Systems Diploma from NAIT, and has his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Klas Ohman, Treasurer

Klas Ohman, P. Eng., Ph.D. is currently employed with the City of Calgary in their Water Resources Business Unit as Manager, Water Quality Services. This division is responsible for the majority of water and wastewater laboratory analysis and associated compliance monitoring on behalf of the City of Calgary. Prior to joining Water Resources he worked in the public and private sector of the water, wastewater, and the solid waste management industry in Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. Of his many interests, a key one is the application of OR tools to the environmental engineering sector.
